How to Plan and Make Goals for 2020

By Amrit Mishra - January 01, 2020

I was taken by surprise recently when I mentioned SMART goals in a meeting at work and several people didn’t know what I was talking about.

And then it occurred to me why new year’s resolutions are so often abandoned by February 1st (in fact, research shows that 80% of new year’s resolutions are forgotten by February 15th). If you google: top five new year’s resolutions, you will find:

Diet or eat healthier
Exercise more
Lose weight
Save more money
Learn a new skill

The problem with these goals is that not one of them is specific, which leaves you a lot of gray areas to play around in (“I’ll splurge tonight on this ice cream sundae and start fresh tomorrow”, “I’ll just buy this one new electronic”).

They’re not measurable (Exercise how much more? One day per week? Twice a month?).

They’re not actionable (What steps will you take to lose weight? Are you going to sign up for a class to learn your new skill?).

They’re not realistic, simply because they’re so vague.

And finally, they’re not timely because there is no deadline for any of them.

So, you’ve lost 2kg by January 20th. Does that mean you met your goal? You had salads for a week. Was that the end of your diet? You went to the gym for a week. So does that mean you achieved your final result?

If you’re going to set goals in the new year, it is very important to make them SMART goals in order to see the results that you’re looking for.

Alternatively, having a poorly constructed goal can put an end to your motivation and make you feel defeated that you’re not getting anywhere. When you set an unreasonable goal, it's easy to throw in the towel when you don’t see results. The key to success is to make a plan and stick to it by creating SMART goals.

Here in this blog, I will talk a little about the goal-setting process, then I will uncover the 6 key areas of your life where you can set goals. Finally, I will give you 20 examples of effective goals that can help boost your personal development and improve your life.

Let’s start by reviewing how to set SMART goals.

The first thing you need to do is to identify your goal, believe you can achieve it, and write it down. Writing down your goal will keep you accountable and studies in neuroscience have found you will be up to 1.4 times more likely to achieve your goal if you write it down.
When writing your goal down, use a SMART goal worksheet to help guide you through the process of ensuring that your goal will work by using language that is specific and achievable.
Start with an action verb to describe what you plan to do. Then specifically state what actions you will take. For example, Participate in two networking events per month–but then you have to add in your why:

Participate in two networking events per month to make six new contacts in my industry by April 1st, 2020.

This goal leaves no questions about what you’re going to do to achieve your goal, how often you’re going to do it, and when you will know if you have been successful.
Once you meet your goal date, whether you achieved your goal or not, you will want to assess the goal itself. Was it too far fetched?

6 Areas of Your Life for Setting Important Goals:

Career Goals

Your career is one of the major components of your life that will determine whether or not you feel fulfilled at the end of the day. Because of this, it is critical to make career goals that will allow you to feel successful and spend your days doing something that you’re passionate about.

Start by determining your long-term career aspirations and the short-term tasks you need to do in order to achieve them. This will make up your career plan, but because your career will be a life-long journey, you will need to reevaluate your goals as necessary as time goes by.

Finance Goals

You need to set financial goals in order to become financially secure. Without having these goals, you are putting yourself at risk of spending frivolously and wasting money, which can lead to hardships if you face unexpected expenses or are ready to retire.

Being financially secure will require you to set financial goals. Reevaluating and updating these goals will allow you to track your progress and stay financially secure.

Reevaluating your financial goals every year and updating them as needed will allow you to track your progress and stay financially secure, which can reduce the stress that comes along with life’s unavoidable expenses.

Health Goals

Having health goals will help you live a long, enjoyable life. Evaluate your current state of health in all areas, including your diet, fitness, life balance, family health history, etc. and identify the areas that could use some improvement or attention. What are your current health statistics? Do you have any bad habits right now that could be further increasing your chances of developing a hereditary disease? Create goals to modify your lifestyle as needed to optimize your health.

Leisure Goals

When you think of your leisure time, you may automatically jump to the idea of having a free pass to sit around while doing nothing. However, your leisure time is a great opportunity to work on your personal development.

Identify some things you would like to learn. Your leisure time can be spent productively when you use it to gain new skills that will challenge you in some way. Having hobbies is a great way to reduce stress, explore your talents, and even bring in some extra income. So making goals in this arena is an important way to make the best use of your time in life.

Relationship Goals

It’s hard work to maintain healthy relationships. When you’re in a relationship, your goals should be mutually agreed upon with your partner. However, if you’re not currently in a relationship, the relationship that you should work on is the one with yourself. Until you’re happy with the person that you are, you may not be in a position to be the kind of partner that you want to be for someone else.

Spirituality Goals

Your spirituality goals will help you work toward a better life on your journey toward self-actualization. Setting goals in this domain will help you live in line with your values, which means that these goals will be highly individualized in nature. To start setting these goals, explore your beliefs and consider the big questions that you want to be answered, such as what is your why? Do some self-reflection and meditation to try to set yourself in the right direction in making these goals. There are also some tools and podcasts out there to help you explore your spirituality.

18 Examples of Goals to Set for 2020 to Improve Your Life

1. Take a 30-minute walk during your lunch break three times per week.

Having a 30-minute walk during your lunch break can help you lose weight and give your mind a refreshing break. If your goal is to improve your physical health and reduce stress, it could be beneficial to you to step away from your (possibly sedentary) job and get some fresh air and sunlight.

Walking during your lunch break can help you lose weight when coupled with other healthy habits, give your mind a refreshing break, and allow you to change your environment and return to work in the afternoon feeling better prepared to conquer the second half of your day.

2. Reach out to a distant family member once a month.

As families grow up and move away from each other, it is easy to lose touch and only talk on holidays and birthdays. Break this expectation by calling cousins, aunts, and uncles to just catch up throughout the year. This will help you maintain those connections–especially with modern technology that allows us to keep in touch with loved ones around the world,

When you contact a family member, ask about their lives and share details about yours. Allowing other people to feel connected to you will help you sustain relationships with those who are going to be connected with you in some way for the rest of your life.

3. Practice active listening in your meetings at work to improve your relationships with co-workers.

Active listening is an interpersonal communication skill that will allow people to feel closer to you because they will notice that you’re taking an interest in what they say. Helping people feel heard is one of the best ways of developing a trusting relationship and connection with them.

This will also help you prevent conflicts with co-workers because it will help you develop empathy for them and learn how to take on another person’s point of view.

4. Take 20 minutes once a week to reflect on your successes or achievements for that week.

Part of this is remembering to celebrate the small wins, but another part of it is to consciously recognize what you’re doing things right. So often, we focus on the things we do wrong and dwell on our mistakes, but if you counter that with some time each week to realize everything that you did well, it can help negate some of that self-talk.

5. Learn a new skill or hobby by the end of March.

Maybe you won’t be able to master the skill, but you can certainly get a good start in three months. What is something that you’ve always been interested in but have never pursued? Set a date to get involved with this activity and stick to it. You can learn to master any skill that you put your mind to.

6. Make vegetable half of your dinner every night.

This is a very specific goal that can help overhaul your physical health. Start replacing some of the junk food that you tend to eat for dinner (mashed potatoes, fried chicken, macaroni and cheese) with whole foods that your body can use for clean energy. This is a goal that can easily be turned into a habit that will benefit you greatly for the rest of your life.

7. Meditate for 10 minutes per day.

Meditation has a lot of health benefits, from improving your immune system to increase your ability to focus. Learn how to observe your thoughts without passing judgment on them. This will help reduce your anxiety and increase your resilience to stress.

Meditation can help you find your inner peace and discover your ultimate purpose in life as you shut out all of the external factors going on and concentrate only on your mind-body connection.

Meditation has a lot of health benefits, from improving your immune system to increase your ability to focus.

You can also do some meditative journaling to help you do self-reflection. Meditation can look like a lot of different things, as long as you’re taking the time to pay attention to your body and your surroundings.

8. Leave your phone somewhere else when you’re with someone.

Whether you’re on a day trip with your immediate family or you’re out having coffee with a friend, put your phone away and give all of your attention to the people (and the moment) at hand.

Disconnecting yourself from technology when you’re in the presence of others will help you nourish the relationships that are truly meaningful in your life at the end of the day. If you haven’t already, you will eventually discover that you miss more when you ignore those around you than when you ignore your phone.

9. Build an emergency fund with 6 months’ worth of expenses.

If you’ve already done this, double it. You can really never have too much money in your emergency fund, as no one truly knows what the future holds.

Know what your expenses are and how much it would cost for you to maintain your current quality of life if you lost your income. Prepare for that as if it is imminent. It is much better to be ready if that situation presents itself than to be left panicking because you can’t pay your bills.

10. Read one new book every month.

Live the life of a continuous learner by reading a new book every month. Whether it is fiction or nonfiction, not only will reading help expand your level of knowledge, it will also keep your vocabulary sharp, improve your writing skills, and make you a better problem solver.

Find the topics that interest you the most and pick up books that relate to them. Chances are, you won’t want to put down a book that is talking about something you’re passionate about.

11. Write in a gratitude journal every night.

Reflect on the things you’re thankful for in your life. Doing so will help you live a happier life and feel more content with your current circumstances. Your gratitude journal entries don’t have to belong–they can simply be bullet lists of the things that you’re especially thankful for in the moment. Even if this is one very small thing, maintaining a gratitude journal will improve your mental health.

12. Travel somewhere new this year.

Expand your horizons by traveling somewhere you’ve never been before, Bonus points if you travel alone so you can do exactly what you want to do, see what you want to see, and learn what you want to learn. This will help you gain independence and discover an appreciation for how other people live in this world.

It is important to get out of your daily routine every now and then to gain some perspective and get a reminder that the world isn’t as small as you probably imagine on an everyday basis.

13. Start meal planning.

Meal planning can help you in the organizational arena of your life as well as the health domain. Plan your meals ahead of time each week to save yourself time after work and eliminate the dreaded question of “What’s for dinner?”

Meal planning can make a big difference in sticking to a healthy diet, it can also save you a lot of time.

There are a lot of good resources to help teach you how to meal plan and there are some tools and apps that can help save you time and make it easy. While frontloading the work at the end of the weekend may seem cumbersome, you will be thanking yourself for the rest of the week by adopting this habit.

14. Take time for your spouse or partner every day.

Maybe you meet for a quick lunch mid-day or you’re able to sit down and talk at the end of the night. Reconnecting with your partner is so important is maintaining that good relationship, staying involved in each other’s lives, and sharing any problems that one of you is facing. Relationships take continuous work to be successful, so take the time to nourish yours every day in some sort of way.

15. Create a work/life balance.

You want to be able to fit your career into your life, not fit your life into your career. So many sources have cited that one of the top five wishes of people who are near death is that they wish they had not worked as hard during their life and had instead spent that time with their family. If you have a choice to not stay late at work so you can eat dinner with your family, take those opportunities to do so. You should work to live, not live to work.

16. Complete a 30-day challenge.

30-day challenges are great because there is always an end in sight and you get to try out a new habit for a month to see if it ends up working for you. If it does, you can continue the habit and make it a part of your everyday routine. 30 day challenges can trick your mind into forming a new habit by making it seem almost like a game at first, but then realizing all of the benefits you’re gaining from it.

There are many types of 30-day challenges to try. Check out this post for 129 ideas for 30 day challenges.

17. Join a club.

Consider your interests or hobbies and find a local club or organization where like-minded people come together to engage in that activity. This will help you develop more relationships in your area with people who share your interests. Clubs are a great way to make new friends and have some more fun during your leisure time.

18. Sign up for a 5k (or 10k, half-marathon, or marathon).

Signing up is the first step to starting your training. You can’t avoid becoming physically fit when you’re trying to get ready for a big race such as one of these. Also, when you’re out running, you can take some time off to free your mind, have some fun, and enjoy the alone time. Choose a race depending upon your current level of fitness and if you have run a few of these before, make a goal of setting a personal record.

You still have some time to come up with your SMART goals for 2020, but hopefully this list inspired you in some way to make a positive change in your life. Even if you don’t really know what you want for your future, making goals will help you feel like you’re making progress in some way.

Things can dramatically change over the course of one year, and the truth is, if you know what you want to go for, you don’t need to wait until January 1st. Start today on just one thing that you feel like you can really focus on.

Remember that your goals may change over time, and reevaluating and adjusting them is a big part of ultimately being successful. Personal growth doesn’t happen in one big surge of effort. It happens slowly over time by keeping up with your realistic goals and making small–but effective–changes to your life.

From an IT Engineer to an Entrepreneur

By Amrit Mishra - April 17, 2019

Sometimes we have to take a few decisions which may not everyone like, but that what actually your heart wants.

Life is all about the choices we make daily. And this started when I was into engineering when everyone chose to go for JAVA and C( these are computer programing languages) I chose to go for robotics in my vacation. When everyone was taking classes related to the upcoming courses I was learning hacking.

What I feel it is not necessary to follow a specific pattern what society is doing, we should do what our heart wants. not what our aunt wants.

I joined a small IT firm situated in the heart of Hyderabad city, as it was my very first job it was a different experience altogether. I enjoyed the process loved how things happened and learned so many things. The 1st year went by coding and working, 2nd year of my career I meet a nice girl, so weekends were more on the tour and traveling exploring the beauty of Hyderabad. This was the time when I developed a hobby if photography, trekking and traveling.

Post 2 years I shifted to Pune to work now with a multinational company with big goals, while I was getting the time I learned guitar, worked in Dominos, did professional photography, moto blogging, cycling, etc. This was the time I learned so many things which help me meet many new people of different backgrounds, explore many places, do many things, learn different aspects of life. Which made me realize my cubical is not the only world, there are so many things which I can do.

I also started to work with a startup in the night, but gradually with time, it was getting hectic, hard to manage time, and not getting enough time for myself and for the thing I love to do.
Post my Ladakh ride I left this too and started searching for something new.

Not knowing what to do. What I want. Sometimes I felt there is something lacking in my life. when though I was working and getting a decent salary, with no financial issues I was always running for more excitement, more experience, more adventure, things that will keep my adrenaline flow high.

I meet one friend who was operating a nutrition studio and was looking for coaches to work with him. I saw the presentation and join the organization. Initially, I was only enjoying this new concept, but later post lots of training on personality development, goal setting, I was able to get some real meaning of the things I was doing. After 3 years I decided to leave my full-time job and went full-time working as an Entrepreneur helping people stay healthy and happy.

Why it took me 3 years?
Many times life doesn't happen our way and caused 3 years of waiting, but this was worth it. I was able to learn many new things about being my own boss, learn a new aspect of having my own business, and the philosophy behind it.

Now am I happy with my decision?
Yes obviously, I am master of my fate I am master of my destiny. I am excited about the upcoming years, new goals, new plans. Waiting for what this life holds for me.

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do.”-Mark Twain

Viaterra Handlebar Review

By Amrit Mishra - March 26, 2016

With the rise of cycling synopses in India. There are lots of organization coming up with loads of cycling accessories. As most of these are imported. Viaterra cyclist came up with a nice concept of having touring bags for cyclists. And guess what they are lot different and cool. I had used the touring bags they had for motorbiking and I love them. And as expected they understand the customers and their requirements and create as per the need.

Now we can get much better products at less price. Touring bags concept is new in India. Even though people do buy cycles, but they keep themselves only to weekend few km's of the ride. Very few serious riders are out there. But still kudos to these guys for coming up with these amazing products. I got the opportunity to test one of these. It was monsoon and planned to do goa ride from Pune, approx 500km, 2-day ride, now carrying a bag pack is different while you are on a motorbike, but once ur starts pedalling, it's a different version altogether. Now for 2 days ride, it's not an intelligent idea to carry panniers, being huge in size they need proper panniers holder to attach them to your bike, and if you own a road bike, then forget to use them.

So, Viaterra came up with this nice concept, a handlebar bag, it was perfect for my 2-day ride, and enough capacity to carry 2 days, required essence, but to make it clearer, I carried,

Extra tees,
Shorts,
Daily use material,
Extra tubes,
Some eatables.

That's it, obviously, 2 days ride right.

It was a monsoon, so the rain was obvious, now this bag comes up with rain cover enough to handle showers to heavy rain. But if you keep the bag in heavy rain for hrs, then nothing is going to work, in that case, so have a break. In my day 2 of the ride, I was in the rain for 4 to 5 hrs and the cover worked in a good way. Moreover, the materials used to make the bag is good, u need not worry about it anytime soon, once u buy this bag.

This bag is easy to attach to cycle. It comes with 3 straps, 2 on top to get tied with handlebar one to keep it steady and avoid from jumping everywhere. Now road bikes are not designed to carry luggage, so faced issues attaching it in front, as it was causing problems with breaks. So moved it in opposite side. You can see that in pictures. Other than these in back I carried my tent and a sleeping bag that's it. No more extra unnecessary stuff.

You can check the ride story from here.

The bag comes up with splendid zip pouch on top to keep your mobile and screen will be visible from one side as it is made of transparent plastic. I found this very beneficial. Every part of this bag is composed and made with a thought process, not just a bag. It can be called as a cyclist friend as it is easy to carry, easy to attach to the bike, removes the burden from rider back, can be attached to any bike, good capacity, waterproof covers, good material, what else you need.

No point in creating New Year Resolutions

By Amrit Mishra - January 01, 2016

As per study and research done by some leading health magazine. All new year Resolutions end within 3 weeks and remaining last till the month of February. And funniest in the gymnasium resolution, people even after knowing this, they keep on creating the list of resolutions.

Ever wondered, why no one is able to keep up their promises. It's simple, lack on motivation and goals.

"Being human, if you set the goal too huge, without the proper plan of execution, its ends up in a chaotic battle and result is similar in most situation."

I am not the best person to teach about motivation kinds of stuff, but will give some points which anyone can follow this year and make most of it.

1. Get a healthy 7+ hours of sleep.

Now this is easy right, you only need to sleep 7hrs a day. Sleeping is never a waste of time. Every organism in this earth needs it. A good sleep will help your body to recover and heal and ready for next day. You will feel more energetic in the morning.

But make sure to sleep early and wake up early.

Keep your mobile far from the bed and in silent mode.

Sleep with a happy mood.

2. Consume 30grams of protein.

Once you are awake, make sure to consume 30 grams of protein daily. Our body scientifically need 1.8g of protein per body kg. Protein rich food keeps you full longer and maintains sugar level. It's not necessary to have dairy, meat or egg, the vegetarian can consume nuts, seeds and vegetable form of proteins. Even doing this for 7days you can see drastic change in yourself

3. Decrease consumption of alcohol and beverages.

As per calculation, you can save the good amount of money. Yes it's not a joke. I have seen and heard people saying same those who were successful in this. Knowingly or unknowingly we spent a lot much money which could have been used for something more reasonable and meaningful in your life.

4. Do some exercise daily.

I am not saying to go to the gym. Start by doing 10 pushups, jumping jacks, skipping. increase slowly. There are many exercises which can be done at home, without any instruments also. Just start by doing for 15mins, and increase slowly. Even a cycle, or a walk for 30min does magic. So gear up and go out.

5. Go for a road trip.

The company you work for will continue, no matter you are with it or not. So take a leave and go for a road trip.

"Love your job, but not your company, cause you never know when your company stops loving you."

I myself working in an MNC, I love being a web developer, I love creating websites, but I always keep my company secondary and my life as primary. With small management of tasks, I get time for myself and get the chance to travel. Recently I went for a road trip to Leh Ladakh on my motorbike. Those experience can not be compared to anything. You don't need to leave your job, just manage it little to find time for yourself and your family.

6. Avoid junk food. The easy one to do, but we mostly ignore it. Avoiding junk food will help you be fit and work towards something more productive. Your body will get fit, you will start getting confidence, your life will change and your goals will be clearer.

Now next question you must be thinking is what to eat, once you skip junk food. Right?

I can help with that, you can opt for many things which use less oil or have some good nutrition content too. Like buttermilk, lassi, sandwiches, fruits, juice, dry fruits, nuts, curd, etc.

7. Make goals for life.

It starts today, pen down your goals. Be it short or long, no issues, just pen down. This will make you clear what you want to achieve this year and you can plan accordingly. Type of goal never matters. We all are different and walk on the different path so goals will obviously be different. "Want to get good physique"

Want to loose weight?

Want to succeed financially?

want to achieve something you were waiting for long.

Want to buy a house.

Whatever, write it and paste somewhere, where you spent most time like office dashboard, house wall. And every day work towards it. When it will stay in front of you, your mind will slowly start working towards it. You never know, when you will get clicked and your job is done.

So, stop wondering about your resolutions and go for it and make your 365days worth looking back.

Cheers

2015 Year of Change.

By Amrit Mishra - December 31, 2015

"Life never goes the way you want. "

"It always had planned to kick your ass, no matter how careful you are. And after getting kicked, you fall, you get hurt, but you got to get up and start all over again. That's what makes us human."

2015 was no different, faced many issues, learned many things, started all over again and reached the new level. This year was lots of travelling, biking, cycling, running and lots of amazing stuff.

1. Did Pune Leh Bike trip. This I will remember, throughout my life, the experience of riding across 8 states and 8500km is thrilling and can't be explained. Where I stayed most of the trip in my tent or in dhabas. Sharing stories with people, talking to them, spending time enjoying the nature and much more.

2. Motorcycle traveller meet. One of the amazing 3days event I was part of. Riders across the world who are legends or motorbike travelling were in the event. It was amazing to listen to them, their stories and their experiences. The stories they had lived, the moments they had lived all we were able to feel and enjoy. Those 3 days were like best time of motorbiking event.

3. Did Pune Goa Cycling Solo. In monsoon rented a road bike and started to enjoy monsoon. 2 days trip from Pune riding across Kolapur and ended at Goa. On the way meet one more cyclist who was heading towards Leh from Bangalore.

4. Attended many marathons and did 35km. This was tough, but I practiced and managed to clock lots of 10km and running event with good timings and on Christmas did my 35km. I was seriously insane to participate in that, lack of practice resulted in bad timing, but I completed it somehow. It was something unexplainable.

5. Joined Herbalife. One of the best thing which happened, being part of world best nutrition company. What else you need. Thanks to one of my facebook friends, due to him I was able to know about this.

6. Jammu Kashmir trip with parents. The whole week with mom and dad enjoying the serenity of Kashmir valley. The beautiful mountains of Kashmir and lovable weather. Even did Ice Skiing.

Now 2016 just few clicks away, wish it will be more amazing, thrilling, exciting, beautiful and memorable.

Cheers.

Why Should you also go on A Solo Trip?

By Amrit Mishra - October 02, 2015

Every time I do a solo ride, questions starts pouring on me.

"Why solo?
Dont you get bored?
What u will do in case of any problems.
Dnt go alone, its not safe."

And all I do is smile on their misery and go on one more solo trip, bombarding my social website with lots of more photos and giving glimpse of how awesome my solo trips are.

I am not a pro rider or a traveller but I had done enough of rides and travelling all solo to rant about, how fun and excitement a solo trip can be, and advantages of travelling solo are enormous. So here based on my experience I am adding few points which makes me love solo riding or travelling.

1. Freedom. Peace. Flexibility.

Travelling alone gives you feel of freedom and peace related to your plan. You can change modify and update your plans spontaneously without any compromises or accounting for anyone else feelings. You can stop where ever you want, can have food wherever or whatever you feel like. Can go places you like. Can sleep, stay, do on your wish, no discussion or wastage of time. So you will be travelling on your own term and guess this is the reason you opted for the holiday at first place. Your trip is like a blank canvas, start painting it with colors of your preferences.

2. Learn New things.

Life is a long learning process. And travelling alone opens the door of knowledge. You will get to know and learn many new things which no book can teach. Once you hit the road, you will face the reality, it won't matter how much preparation you have done, life out there is different and sometime can be cruel and that where you will excel. During my trips, I actually don't plan much, I decide on the go, depending on conditions.

3. Making new friends.

Travelling alone gives you the chance to make friends and interact with many new peoples. Many are scared of doing so, and the reasons are always valid, but u don't get always negative. During my trips I meet 80% of good people, some welcomes you for dinner, some let you camp at safe place. Being solo you are naturally open to everyone and the hesitation is lost.

Example :
During my GOA trip, I had flat both of tyres in my cycle, glad there was a restaurant opposite to road, he helped me fixing my bike, if he had not been there I would have been stuck in a dark night on a highway surrounded by jungles.

One more story where I had beer with Bikers from Chandigarh during my Leh trip.

If I had been in a group all of these would not have happened, I would have been stuck with people I came or I am with.

4. Confidence.
While travelling alone helps in building confidence, as when you are alone, you have to face all the situations by your self and this helps a lot. Like you have to camp alone, make camp fire. Travel in a new city without my issues. While in group trips you wont face all of these situations as someone or other will help you for sure. Like I had to repair my bike when it breaks down, even if it takes time I learn while I do and it helps me in my next trip. You overcome the fear of heights, darkness, spiders or even new food. The more you travel, the less you fear. As long as you make regular solo trips, you will feel more confident each time, no matter what your fear is which is also a good excuse to travel regularly.

5. Save Money.
This is kind of contradiction, but I was able to save money many times during my solo travels. You get hotel as per your own budget, you eat what fits in your pocket, public transport etc. Solo travelling opens gate to all such possibilities.

For example like in my leh trip, I am able to save almost 50% of amount, the tour organizers charge. No one actually believed me.

So next time, you are in doubt, gear up and leave on a solo trip. You never know what you will hit and what amazing story awaits you on the other side.

Things to do instead of Getting Married

By Amrit Mishra - May 07, 2015

In India, your relatives and neighbor aunties are more excited about your marriage. Not a single idea what the fck they get from this. The only time they come to your life is during your marriage and your results and make your peaceful life hell.

So, if you are tired of all of that bullshit but still you can blow them with bazooka. Then you have these options to try.

"Things you can always do instead of Marriage"

Go on road trip: whenever you find any aunty around before they starting irritating you. This will give you lots of time to calm yourself and attain inner peace and make them forget that you once lived on earth. Anyway, you dont need a Honeymoon to visit the most amazing places on earth. Pack your bag, carry your tent, and show your middle finger to all who are asking you to get married.

Buy fuckingawesomehollyshit 2000cc 16cylinder 500hp superbike and do wheelie front of those who ever asked you to get married. Jokes apart every day biking industry even in India is engaged with new, increased, faster, better and awesome bikes so why waste money on meaningless Big Fat Indian Wedding and serve guests whom you had never seen.

Get a new Hobby: Many times it happens, that we admire things but can't do it, for some or other reason, if this is the case, buddy you need to gear up, cause this is the time, do what you wanted to do the whole of your life. Do what your relatives or parent or friends stopped you from doing. You like photography get a new 50Mega Pixel camera and start cliking selfies, learn guitar, piano and be singer, start dancing classes, do blogging, learn cooking and enjoy tasty food of your own. No matter what you do, you will love and enjoy, other than carrying your wife's shopping bag full of kid's diapers.
Start your own business, be it IT/Software or a shop, or a boutique, or a showroom, when you have so much money left you can show the middle finger to your manager and start with a new business where you don't have to work 9 - 5 for few coins. Enjoy being an owner and you will excel cause this is what you wanted. This is what you will pay attention and this is much better than wasting your time in meaning fewer fights with your wife, cause you forgot to bring onions to home.
Join the gym, after marriage, most of the people complain about not getting time. Household works will surround you and you will be abhimanyu inside a chakraviu who had no idea how to be free, and you will die inside that. So hit the gym and get those sexy 6 packs and start flirting with that sexy slim girl you always admired. Bet you will be sexier, more awesome, more energetic next summer.

Don't worry you won't be single like this, there are many idiots like you, who choose to be free instead of getting tied to some worthless society rules. There are many....

Here is on top of my list, this guy, from Bangalore, sold his 2BHK flat and land to go one a world tour. Now who is having guts like this, when you give up everything for your dream.
Bharadwaj Dayala : I dont know if he is married or not, but he is the first Indian to do a world tour on a Indian Bike without any sponsors that also when he got bankrupted. Listen to his story here.

This world is full of inspiration, search and Google will return your a list of hundreds of legends who became the inspiration for everyone. It is never easy to go out of your comfort zone and achieve things. But once you do, your name will be in the book of Achievers who went from their comfort zone and did what they wanted to do...
